I tried ilearntoboat.com because I was hoping it would be simple enough for a complete beginner, but I felt lost a lot of the time. Some of the lessons seemed to assume I already knew basic boating terms and what certain steps were supposed to look like, so I kept having to pause and google things on the side.

I reached out to support thinking maybe I was missing something, but the response kind of made me feel like it was my fault for not understanding the material. That was frustrating, because the whole reason I signed up was to learn from scratch. It might be fine if you already know a little, but for total beginners, it didn’t feel very welcoming.

I was hoping the study material would be a lot more helpful, especially for what I paid. It was kind of hard to follow and felt outdated. If it were cheaper, I might not have minded as much, but at this price I expected better.

The progress tracking is kind of a mess. I’ll make some progress, come back later, and it’s reset again. Annoying when you’re trying to keep track of where you left off.

Overall, I thought the course was good and easy to follow. I learned what I needed, so I’d still recommend it to friends. The site kept freezing on me during lessons, and the videos lagged a lot. On top of that, the quiz crashed twice, which was really frustrating. What annoyed me even more was how the support/refund policy seems to have little loopholes, so it’s hard to get a straight fix or any real accountability when the platform messes up

I used I Learn to Boat before my test and didn’t expect to remember as much as I did. The quizzes helped a lot, especially because they’d repeat certain details in slightly different ways, which made them stick in my brain. I even caught myself remembering small wording from the practice questions during the test. It wasn’t boring like I thought it might be, and it felt more like I actually learned the info instead of just cramming it for one day and forgetting everything after.

In the end, I was able to get into my account easily. I did have to reset my password once, but after that, the login worked fine.
